September 30, 2016 - Friday Nights Program Cancelled Due to Rain; Saturday Remains on as Scheduled
With record breaking rainfall of over 10 inches across the area the last few days and more rain at the Speedway this morning we have no choice but to also cancel tonight's racing events. Saturday nights racing action will move forward as planned. "Our track staff has done a tremendous job to get the track in shape to race on but with rain overnight and this morning we just cannot guarantee our racers and fans a great track surface, stated track promoter Jim Long Jr. With an extra day for the track to dry and our staff to prep it we are confident that the track will be in fantastic shape for Saturday's racing action". Check back later for the revised schedule for tomorrow night's racing action.

September 28, 2016 - Rain Nixes LOLMDS Thursday Night at FMS; Rest of Weekend Events Remain on as Scheduled
WAYCROSS, GA (September 28, 2016) - Thursday night’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - sanctioned, Dunn Benson Ford - Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial at Fayetteville Motor Speedway has been canceled. With the forecast of rain and thunderstorms through Thursday evening - respecting the travel obligations of all parties involved - Speedway and Series officials have elected to cancel the event.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Fayetteville Motor Speedway on Thursday, July 6, 2017.

“We’d like to thank Jim Long and the staff of Fayetteville Motor Speedway for allowing us a second attempt at the Dunn Benson Ford - Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial. This was our only scheduled event in North Carolina – it’s unfortunate for the race fans in that area.” said Series Director, Rick Schwallie.

“Carlton and Kemp Lamm, and Wayne Castleberry of Dunn Benson Ford have worked very hard to make this event a success. They were gracious to open the doors to their Motorsports shop in July. They have promoted the event on their Social Media, and through TV and Radio avenues. We certainly appreciate all they have done to help honor Wayne Gray Sr. and to grow this event.“ Schwallie added.

September 2, 2016 - Mother Nature takes the win tonight in Boom City
Minutes after the drivers meeting concluded light rain moved into the speedway. Track crews worked diligently to get conditions back to begin the program. Track Promotor Jim Long Jr. & staff monitored the weather looking for a window of opportunity. Approximately 7:50pm the decision was made to postpone The Al Menscer Memorial until a later date. At just before 10:00pm the second band of expected heavier showers moved into the speedway that would have ended the racing for the night.

In consideration of the upcoming holiday weekend & speaking with multiple teams that have prior engagements this event will be made up on Saturday September 24th. ATTENTION: After a late afternoon official site evaluation, several major issues with additional power/electrical requirements for the upcoming Nitro Circus Live Show have been discovered requiring immediate attention.

As many of you know we had an issue last Friday night with one section of track lighting not firing up. This was a symptom of a larger electrical problem that was uncovered this evening. With that being said we are forced to cancel tomorrow night's racing program as we tackle this issue along with several others discovered during the inspection process.

We are thankful that the larger problem was found and are confident that the necessary repairs and local inspections will be completed by Thursday's I-95 Late Model Challenge event. The safety of our fans and drivers are of the utmost importance to us. The Brian Honda Pure Stock Blitz $500 to win and the U-Car $600 to win specials will be made up next Thursday. T
